The Kansas City Chiefs have confirmed that wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster will not participate in their Week 8 game, due to an ongoing hamstring problem. In addition to Smith-Schuster, starting cornerback Jaylen Watson is also out, following a reported sprained ankle.

Key Players Sidelined Injured

Coach Andy Reid confirmed the bad news on Monday. Watson, a key player on the team’s defensive line, may miss the rest of the season due to his injury. The 26-year-old player was reportedly injured while playing on Sunday.

Smith-Schuster’s Hamstring and Watson’s Ankle: A Double Blow for the Chiefs

Smith-Schuster, 27, had to leave the field during Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers after suffering a hamstring injury during Thursday’s practice. Despite not being targeted before his early exit, Smith-Schuster made a significant contribution this season, boasting nine receptions, 147 yards, and a touchdown in six games, three of which he started.

Watson, who appeared in the stands and cast after the game, is awaiting further tests to determine the severity of his ankle injury and the likelihood of his return this season. With six passes defensed and 32 tackles through six starts, his absence will certainly be felt on the team.

The Chiefs face the Ganges in Week 8

The undefeated Chiefs (6-0) are preparing for their Sunday game against the Las Vegas Raiders (2-5). Despite losing two key players, the team still hopes to maintain its winning streak.
