The AP college basketball preseason poll for the 2024-25 regular season is out. The Big 12 has three of the top five teams and five of the top 10 in the poll. The defending champion, UConn, is ranked #3 behind #1 Kansas and #2 Alabama. This is the second consecutive season that the Jayhawks are the preseason #1.

The AP Poll for preseason college basketball sees the defending champion, UCONN, come in at #3 with 11 first-place votes compared to Kansas’ 30. Houston is ranked #4, and Iowa State #4. Kansas enters the 2024-25 regular season with one of the best transfer classes in the NCAA. We also see Coach Cal at Arkansas and Coach Mark Pope at Kentucky this season. Most teams start the regular season on November 4, 2024 this year.
