The ADG said that railway officials started an investigation in collaboration with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) and found that there was no criminal intent behind the act.
A fireman who may have accidentally fallen off the train started panicking on Sunday when the driver of another passenger train applied the brakes after spotting a cylinder-like object on the track between Govindpuri and Bhimsen stations here, according to officials.
“The incident took place when the train was heading to Lucknow from Mumbai. It had not reached Govindpuri station when the driver saw the cylinder on the track around 4 am on Sunday,” said Director General (Railways) Prakash D.
The loco driver immediately relayed the information to the control room. After that it was found that the cylinder is a fireman, he belongs to the railway.

The findings further indicated that there was no foreign involvement or any other crime in the case, the ADG added.
“In the inquiry report, the railway officials stated that the fire safety cylinder belonged to the railway and was issued by divisional engineer (coach and wagon) Gorakhpur and it could have fallen on any other train accidentally,” the ADG said adding that none. A fire has been filed regarding this issue.
Railway officials are on high alert following similar incidents recently.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly placing a fence post on the Banda-Mahoba railway line, which caused disruption on Saturday. A passenger train driver had to apply the emergency brakes to stop the train after spotting a concrete pillar on the track, police said.
Also, a train engine hit a stone placed on the railway track in Bairia area of ​​Ballia on Saturday, officials said, adding that no damage was caused.
The RPF has formed a special team to solve the case, and patrols are being conducted on the railway track, while the police have lodged an FIR, officials said.
RPF inspector VK Singh told PTI, “We believe this was done with the intention of destroying the train. The current conclusion of the team in this case is that someone unknown placed the stone.” On September 8, an alleged attempt to sabotage the Kalindi Express, bound for Bhiwani from Prayagraj, was reported when an LPG cylinder was found on the tracks in Kanpur.
Last week, an empty gas cylinder was also found on the track by a freight train driver near Prempur railway station. Both incidents are under investigation.
