UK Jeysankar, General Secretary of the Bahujan Samaj Party’s (BSP) unit in Tamil Nadu, on Thursday wrote to MP Rahul Gandhi, accusing state Congress President Selvaperunthagai of involvement in the coup. the assassination of former BSP state chief K Armstrong.

Greater Chennai police have arrested more than 16 people in connection with Armstrong’s murder, including Ashwathaman, a former Congress member and his father, Nagendran, who was sentenced to life in prison.

According to Jeysankar, Selvaperunthagai was very close to Nagendran, yet he was not called for questioning.

In an interview with India Today TV, Jeysankar alleged that Selvaperunthagai was fully aware of the murder and was obstructing the investigation due to his political position. He went on to say that social media is abuzz as Selvaperunthagai is wanted to be questioned.

Jeysankar also accused Selvaperunthagai of using Nagendran in criminal activities and being a mentor to Ashwathaman.

He added that BSP leaders, along with Armstrong’s widow, are planning to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to discuss the issue.

UK Armstrong, 52, was robbed by unknown persons outside his home in Perambur area. CCTV footage of the incident revealed that the four attackers were dressed as food deliverymen.
