I Los Angeles Chargers are in the final playoff spot as they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, but a special visitor could give them the boost they need after last week’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Judge Judy Sheindlin will serve as the honorary team captain for this week’s contest where he will join linebacker Justin Herbert and other team captains in the coin toss before kickoff at 4:25 pm ET.
But his appearance should come as no surprise to those who know head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh has been vocal about his admiration for Sheindlin at press conferences over the years, and has repeatedly called himself a fan of his television courtroom drama series.
The first one Michigan football coach she even appeared in viewers of her show “Judge Judy,” in January 2015 with her father, Jack Harbaugh.

“Jim Harbaugh is a force of nature. His passion for the game and life in general is contagious,” Sheindlin told Fox News Digital before Sunday’s game. “I had the great pleasure of spending the day with Jim and his father, a handsome young man himself. I am definitely a fan of the Harbaughs. They are a kind family.”
For Harbaugh, the sentiment is mutual.

“It will be an incredible honor to share with Judge Judy. She has been my family’s favorite television show for years,” he told Fox News Digital. “If we could get Judge Judy on the Supreme Court, the world would be a better place. Suffice it to say, I’m a big fan.”
This is not the first time that this famous coach has pushed for Sheindlin to join the Supreme Court. In 2016, Harabaugh posted a message on social media encouraging former President Barack Obama to nominate Sheindlin.
“I urge President Obama to nominate to the Supreme Court the wise and talented, Judge Extraordinaire Judith Sheindlin,” he said at that time.

Sheindlin played “Judge Judy” for 25 years, before moving on to “Judy Justice,” which airs weekdays on Prime Video and won two Daytime Emmys.

A win on Sunday will not give the Chargers a chance to make the playoffs as they dropped to sixth in the AFC last week. They currently hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Denver Broncos, but a win over the Bucs would make it nine wins this season and one step closer to the playoffs.
