After accidentally leaving his Apple Watch on the plane, Joel McHale decided to play games with the new owner of the device.
“Ride [an] the sweetest JetBlue flight from LAX to Newark Airport and left my Apple Watch on board (my disintegrating brain makes me leave things all over the planet),” McHale, 52, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, September 28. “That said, when I did ‘Find My’ on the machine it somehow ended up in a residence in Newark, New Jersey.”
Along with the message, i Community star shared a screenshot of his watch — which, in fact, was pinged on the street in New Jersey. On the next slide, the map was reversed and a line was drawn from the clock zone to the nearest airport in Newark.
“To the person who has (I don’t know if this is the real address) … I’ll guess three times with the passcode and when you get a little closer, it’s yours,” he wrote. “I mean, it’s clear that he’s yours now, but it’s a fun game. Enjoy!”
The comments section of McHale’s post was filled with users offering solutions — and their thoughts — on the situation. “I study in that place. Do you want me to knock? 😂,” one wrote, while another added, “Alt is possible — still on the plane, and the plane took off. This place was UNDER the plane and the place to keep the watch connected to the mobile network.”
When not on the hunt for lost property, McHale can be found running Fox’s Crime Scene Kitchen. McHale, who runs the program from 2021, was told only Us Weekly before the start of season 3 he strives to simplify the environment.
“Oh, I’ve been with people, ‘Joel, thank you very much. Are you leaving the kitchen now?’ “That has happened more than once, and my wife has mentioned it to me many times,” McHale said Us earlier this month. “I try to learn about them, find out where they come from and … try to engage them in conversation while they are cooking. It really happened where I was like, ‘Joel, I have to balance, so can you stop talking to me for a second?'”
The cooking competition show follows bakers who are tasked with identifying a dessert based on several ideas. After recreating the recipe, the judges decide how closely the creation matches the original recipe.
“Obviously, there’s a lot of drama,” he said, “but I try to keep it simple and put in as much humor as possible.”
