Jewellery, cash worth Rs 90 lakh recovered in Lokayukta raid from junior auditor Ramesh Hingorani in Bhopal

The raids at premises linked to Ramesh Hingorani, a junior auditor in the Department of Technical Education in Bhopal, were conducted following a complaint regarding disproportionate assets.

In this raid, the Bhopal unit of the Lokayukta special police agency recovered gold jewelery worth around Rs 70 lakh and silver jewelery worth around Rs 55 lakh. Cash worth around Rs 13 lakh was also recovered following raids at six places connected to Hingorani.

This raid was carried out after a complaint was filed against Hingorani saying that he has assets that do not match his salary. After this complaint, six teams were formed to raid six different places, including his bungalow, two schools and his son’s office.

Additionally, the Lokayukta officials also recovered four cars and two five-wheelers from his Laxman Nagar house, along with property documents worth crores.

Hingorani, along with his sons Yogesh and Nilesh, are accused of illegally occupying and selling government land in Gandhi Nagar area.

The adoption of the children was carried out as part of a night operation. Lokayukta officials said that the search operation is still going on and the final figure regarding the value of the property linked to Hingorani will be given once the operation is over.
