Japan Airlines has announced that it is offering international passengers free flights home to any destination within Japan.
While most tourists come to Japan to explore the high-tech areas of Tokyo and Osaka or visit the Buddhist temples of Kyoto, Japan Airlines encourages tourists to travel to other parts of the country.
However, Japan Airlines has set some requirements for you to be able to claim this offer.
Guests must book an international flight with Japan Airlines and a corresponding domestic flight at the same destination booked, as separate domestic reservations will not be eligible.
A stopover fee of $100 USD or ¥300 will also be applied to travelers from the US, Canada, Mexico and China if they stay at their first destination in Japan for more than 24 hours.
No additional charges will be applied to passengers traveling from other countries on domestic sections.
This offer is not available to everyone. Only passengers from the following countries can receive the offer: US, Canada, Mexico, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, India, China and Taiwan.
The domestic flight offer is already open in other countries, and the deal will be available in the remaining destinations according to the airline’s schedule during September.
Although not all countries, including flights from the UK, have yet been included in the offer, Japan Airlines said plans are in place to expand eligible countries.
Japan Airlines said it is offering this agreement to create a seamless journey for those who want to explore more of Japan.
For example, a passenger arriving from Singapore could fly to Tokyo and then take a domestic flight to Sapporo in northern Japan at no additional cost.
There are several domestic destinations recommended by the airline, such as trips to Hokkaido for hiking in national parks or skiing at various alpine resorts.
Wakayama in the Kansai region of Japan is also highlighted as a place to visit because of the great Koyasan temple, or Japan’s longest waterfall Nachi Falls.
