Gujarat Council of Science and Technology (GUJCOST), Gandhinagar, under the Department of Science and Technology, Gujarat, has been honored as the partner of the International Academic Year for Quantum Science and Technology (IYQST-2025).

The United Nations has declared 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. The celebration will highlight major advances in quantum science, its revolutionary applications, and its potential to shape the future of innovation, education, and global development, according to officials.

“To design a strategic guide and vision for the celebrations, GUJCOST, in association with Gujarat Science City, is organizing a day-long session of discussions to be held on December 27 (Friday) at Gujarat Science City, Ahmedabad. This important event will bring together 60 distinguished scientists, educators, and science consultants from all over the world to design innovative programs and ensure effective implementation in their respective areas,” said advisor and member secretary, GUJCOST, Narottam Sahoo.

This partnership underscores our commitment to fostering innovation, cultivating scientific curiosity, and leading impactful outreach programs that will make every day by 2025 a “Quantum Day,” he added.

Endorsed by the United Nations and coordinated by UNESCO, this year-long effort aims to improve public engagement and strengthen national capacity in quantum science and technology, officials said.
