Human skull, bones found inside fridge in abandoned house in Chottanikkara, Kerala – Kerala News

Chottanikkara police found a human skull and bones stuffed and stored inside a refrigerator in an unoccupied house on the outskirts of Kochi, Kerala.

The premises were searched by the police after the panchayat authorities lodged a complaint that the area was being used as a hub for anti-social activities.

When the police searched, they opened the fridge, which is believed to have been used when people lived in the house, and found a skull and bones.

The bones were found packed in three different covers. Police believe the skull is several years old, although the exact age can only be determined after an examination. There was no electricity in the house and the refrigerator had no compressor.

The house, located in Palace Square near Eruveli in Chottanikkara about 4 km north of the famous Chottanikkara Bhagavathy temple, was unused and closed for years. This house, situated on 14 acres of land belongs to a native of Ernakulam and has not been occupied for about 15-20 years.

The police have completed the trial and have started an investigation into the incident.
