Johnny GaudreauTwo children paid tribute to their late father with their 2024 Halloween costumes.
“The clothes my father wanted ❤️❤️,” Johnny’s wife, Meredith Gaudreaushe wrote on her Instagram Story on Friday, November 1, alongside a video of daughter Noah, 2, and son Johnny Jr., 8 months, dressed as toy Story holiday characters. Meredith’s post also featured the song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from the original Pixar film.
Noah went as the lovely cowgirl Jessie. She rocked an outfit that featured a cowhide skirt and a white and yellow western blouse. He donned a red cowboy hat to complete the look.
“Love my girl very much. I’m so proud of her,” Meredith wrote in the story that followed the song “Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl.”
Johnny Jr. he chose Buzz Lightyear and had a chance to match the style of the astronaut. Noah and Johnny Jr. spend Halloween trick-or-treating with their cousins.
Halloween looked different for the Gaudreaus this year as they continued to mourn Johnny. Us Weekly confirmed in August that Johnny and his younger brother, Matthew Gaudreauthey were hit by a car and killed while riding their bicycles in Oldmans Township, New Jersey. The driver of the car, Sean M. Higginshe was arrested and charged with two counts of vehicular homicide. It is suspected that he was drunk at the time of the incident.

The brothers were in town to celebrate their sister Katie Gaudreaumarriage of Katie’s wedding has been postponed following the tragedy. Johnny was 31 years old and Matthew was 29 years old. (Matthew leaves his wife Madeline Gaudreau who is currently pregnant with her first child, due in December.)
Since Johnny’s passing, Meredith, who announced she is expecting baby number 3, has been open about her grief. Days before Halloween, Meredith wrote an emotional note honoring her husband after his Columbus Blue Jackets team held an emotional dedication for him earlier that month.
“John, we love you so much,” Meredith wrote on Instagram on Tuesday, October 29. “I grow proud of you every day, (I have since the day I met you) and it continues even in heaven. Thank you for giving me our hockey family, our children and and good health like your wife.”
Meredith shared a series of photos of herself and her children at the event where the little ones were wearing their dad’s jersey.
“You are and will always be everything to me. I love you so much,” he continued. “I love you more every day. I always told you that there are no words to describe my love for you. They just don’t exist. ‘You know how much I love you, don’t you?’ 🤍.”
