But what about the colors from the video player? It basically does the same thing. However, instead of a bunch of RGB lights, it produces RGB colors at different points on the screen.
Producing Black Color
Now we’re ready for the fun stuff. How does a video projector shoot black light? Dark light can be the absence of anywhere light, as we have seen before. How do you not project anything? First, let’s consider a screen like a TV. If you have three small lights (red, blue), you can make a small black dot by simply turning off the lights of all three colors in that area. Boom, it’s dark!
So, is it possible to just turn off the projector to make it black? That wouldn’t be right, would it? If that were the case, you wouldn’t be able to see the difference between the projected black color and the screen unless the projector was turned on. Yes, that’s exactly how it works.
