Kotb, 60, shared a photo with her on Instagram Jenna Bush Hager,43, and Savannah Guthrie53, Wednesday, January 22. The trio can be seen smiling at the restaurant in the photo.
“I love Wednesday!! @savannahguthrie @jennabhager. And remember when you had a big goodbye party and now I’m like…… HIIIIIIIIIIIII!” Kotb wrote the caption.
Bush Hager also posted the photo on Instagram Stories, writing: “Love these babies.”
Guthrie also shared the photo via Instagram Stories. He captioned it: “Reunion.”
The exit comes less than two weeks after Kotb’s last episode of the NBC morning show on January 10.
After the star came out, Today With Hoda & Jenna re-introduced as Today With Jenna & Friends. Bush Hager will preside over a rotating selection of celebrities until Kotb’s successor is chosen.
“Whoever sits in this chair is going to have the easiest job in the world because he’s sitting next to you,” Kotb said in the September 2024 episode. Hoda & Jenna after announcing his plans to leave the show.
“I mean what they have to do is not to laugh until they pee their pants.” That’s all. They just have to hold on. You are this bright light, you have always been there, and it is your turn,” he added.
Bush Hager replied: “If I’m bright, it’s because I’m sitting in your light.”
As for Kotb, the TV personality won’t completely give up on the news. In interview no Page Six published on January 9, Kotb revealed that he will work as a special correspondent for Today and NBC and has signed an agreement to cover the next two Olympics.
Kotb also shared plans to launch a health app with the company during the event The Kelly Clarkson Show on January 6.
“[It will] include retreats and podcasts and all kinds of things we can get together [and do] … it’s not like going to Mexico with your girls, which is fun, but something you’ll say when you leave, go like, ‘Oh my god, I feel changed. I feel different,” Kotba said at the time.
“He will earn more than what he earned on today’s show,” a source told the latest magazine. Us Weekly.
“Since he does not work full-time at NBC, Hoda will work with companies and not be paid to endorse them. And he can make hundreds of thousands of dollars talking about topics like, ‘changing your life when you’re 60,’” added the source.
