The unlikely detective premise of this series is similar to similar shows The fortress again The Mentalist, where citizens with no practical knowledge of crime solving are tapped with their amazing crime solving skills.
Shows like High power it can be fun to watch because most people who like mystery shows are not murder detectives, so having a normal person convince the experts that they can be important in nailing the bad guy makes the average viewer feel more connected to the show.
Morgan, the main character in the High power, she may have what appears to be superhuman wisdom, but she is still a mother, a cleaning woman, and a “commoner” as well.
