Kamala Harris on Wednesday distanced herself from President Joe Biden and insulted her Republican presidential rival Donald Trump in a heated interview with Fox News anchor Brett Baier.
“Let me be clear, my presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency,” Harris said on a conservative news channel, after Baier pressed him on whether the vice president would do anything different than the incumbent.
“And like every new president coming into office, I will bring my life experience, my work experience, and fresh and new ideas,” the Democratic nominee said.
The 26-minute interview focused heavily on the issue of immigration, and Harris also accused Trump of killing a bipartisan bill aimed at dealing with the crisis at the southern border.
The conversation was heated from the first exchange, with Baier repeatedly interrupting Harris’ response on immigration. “You’ve got to let me finish, please … I’m in the middle of answering the point you’re raising, and I’d like to finish,” Harris said early.
