The two first sparked romance rumors in September 2023 when they were photographed going full PDA on a night out in Los Angeles, according to photos obtained by PDA. Page Six at that time.
That same month, Us Weekly confirmed that things between Halsey (whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane) and Jogia were “getting very serious” as they continued to hang out.
“Halsey and Avan spend a lot of time together,” the source said Us in September 2023. “He was with her day and night. When she was working or with her son, Avan was there to support her. He also runs errands and coffee. They seem like a good team.”

The following month, Halsey gave a rough introduction to her relationship with Jogia while on tour Luis De Javier fashion show in October 2023. They uploaded a series of Instagram photos, two of which included Jogia.
In the first photo, the two were standing next to each other holding hands, with Halsey also putting her hand in her pocket. In the second photo, Jogia was holding Halsey’s arm as they wore the same clothes.
Later that month, the couple proved their power in matching Halloween costumes.
Halsey and Jogia’s relationship comes after the “Nightmare” singer split from longtime boyfriend Alev Aydin, who they started dating in 2019. Us confirmed in April 2023, that Halsey had filed for full custody of their son, Ender, who was born in July 2021. Halsey sought joint custody and visitation rights with her ex, court documents show. The former flames finally reached a final peace agreement.
Despite the separation, and the singer’s new relationship, there is no bad blood between Halsey and Alev. The source said Us in September 2023 that they were “getting along and teaching each other well,” during that month’s trip.

That same month Us found photos of Jogia leaving Halsey’s home in the midst of a budding romance. A source told Us that Jogia has shown Halsey a lot of “support”.
October 2023
Halsey and Jogia took things to the next level by making their relationship Instagram official. The couple dressed as a siren and a sailor for Halloween and showed off their looks. “Here’s a lighthouse in the deep,” Halsey captioned photos of the outfit, referencing their song “Lighthouse.”

Jogia and Halsey enjoyed a night out in Los Angeles to attend the 2024 Gold Gala, which celebrates Asian Islander and Pacific Islander representation in entertainment. The couple tried to coordinate Sabyasachi ensembles.
September 2024
One day after attending the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards solo, Halsey apparently confirmed that she and Jogia are engaged. Resharing an X that read, “Halsey says she hopes to marry boyfriend Avan Jogia,” she corrected the tweet by writing, “***boyfriend Avan Jogia.”
October 2024
Halsey shared details about Jogia’s “really sweet” proposal during an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
“He proposed in Barcelona,” he told the manager Alex Cooper. “It is the place where we first met, so it is very important to us. … Soon after that [he] I left to shoot a show for, like, six months in Canada, and I was like, ‘Okay, bye.'”
Halsey then recalled that she “wasn’t sure about that [she] he was ready” for a relationship when he and Jogia started dating in Barcelona, even though he was “the most amazing, the smartest, the hottest, and the most beautiful person. [I’d] that we have ever met in my life.”
Despite her initial skepticism, Jogia became Halsey’s ideal partner and changed her view of marriage.
“I never wanted to get married,” Halsey said. “[But with] Avan … I just knew I wanted to marry him.”
