Statement from the Packers General Manager
Brian Gutekunst, general manager of the Green Bay Packers, released a statement Saturday expressing regret over his suspension. He said, “Unfortunately, the decision to stop Romeo from this week’s game was a challenge. His decisions and actions throughout the week had a negative impact on the team, which forced us to take this step. Although we are disappointed, we are confident that we can continue well. Romeo is an important part of our team, and we look forward to his return next week. “
Status and Performance of Doubs
Before the suspension, Doubs was listed as questionable on the game status report, with coach Matt LaFleur calling his status “day-to-day.” Although he participated in Wednesday’s training session, Doubs did not report to the team’s facility on Thursday or Friday.
