Govinda and his wife, Sunita Ahuja, they have been married for almost 40 years now, and in a recent conversation, Sunita said that till todaysometimes they insult each other when they talk. He added that they use Hindi words like ‘Abbe‘ while they were talking. Sunita also pointed out that women should not brag that their husbands are faithful to them, because once they start cheating, they will not be able to break up with another woman.
In an interview with Hauterrfly, Sunita said, “I no longer feel like we are husband and wife. I call him ‘Abbe‘ and he calls me the same way. That’s how we talk to each other.” Then he said “galoch” is part of their verbal conversations, and she adds, “Sometimes I ask him ‘are you my husband? I still can’t believe that he is my husband.”
Sunita then talked about men who cheat on their wives and said, “I like to fold my hands and tell women that you should never say that your partner is innocent (he is not cheating). If he does that it will get worse and no matter how hard you try to get rid of him, he won’t leave him for years. Even if you leave her, that woman will not.”

Sunita was then asked about her relationship being tested during difficult times, and said that they had faced many problems in the 40 years they were together. “Now, 40 years have passed. When it happened, I was patient,” he said. Her daughter Tina, who was also sitting next to her, added, “My mother is a very loving person.” He has a deep love for my Father.” “If you love, love with all your heart, otherwise, they can go to hell. If someone doesn’t pay you back, you have to go another way,” added Sunita. Govinda and Sunita got married in 1987. They are parents to a son Yashvardan Ahuja and Sunita Ahuja.
In an interview with Stardust in 1990, Govinda revealed that he once ended his relationship with Sunita, while they were still engaged, because he wanted to be with film actress Neelam. I asked Sunita to leave me. I broke up with him. And if Sunita hadn’t called me five days later and begged me to go for it, I probably would have married Neelam,” he said and added, “I wanted to marry her. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”
