Yes, my dear Bitcoiners, it seems we did. The unthinkable has been imagined, the unachievable achieved, and the absolute ridiculous made real: Bitcoin has surpassed $100,000! But now, as the laser eyes fade and the confetti dissolves, the question arises: What’s next?
Never fear, because the restless, meme-loving Bitcoin army has a new mission—and it’s as ambitious as it gets. Our purpose? It flips the gold market cap on its old, shiny head and sends Bitcoin hurtling toward a cool $1 million per coin. Because, let’s be honest, who needs gold when it’s digital wealth?
Flashback to the Laser Eyes Phenomenon
Before we dive into our latest adventures, let’s take a moment to tip our hats (or maybe put on our monocles) #LaserEyesTill100K campaign. Back in the halcyon days of 2021, a Bitcoin enthusiast named Chairforce—yes, that’s a real person, not a Transformer—had a great idea to Photoshop laser beams onto Twitter avatars. Why? Because nothing screams “financial revolution” like looking like a superhero in a Marvel knockoff.
The move was a hit. Politicians intervened. Celebrities too. Even your uncle Geoff with his faulty internet connection managed to get laser eyes on his profile picture. The goal of the campaign? Keeping those lasers burning until Bitcoin hits $100K. And three years later, in December 2024, it finally happened. For the full backstory, you can read all about it in Bitcoin Magazine’s excellent article, “The Origins of Bitcoin Laser Eyes”.
But now that Bitcoin is firmly in the six-figure club, it’s time to ditch the lasers (you can stop scaring the family cat now) and put our stuff on a new frontier.
New Objective: Flip the Gold
Ah, gold—the shiny, yellow residue that people have been hoarding for centuries. While it’s popular with pirate necklaces, teeth, and treasure chests, it’s time for Bitcoin to move away from its golden base. Currently, Bitcoin’s market cap is $2.018 trillion, which is a respectable 11.36% of gold’s $17.765 trillion. Not bad, but we have bigger plans.
In 2024, Bitcoin’s market value surpassed that of silver, which was like overtaking your slow cousin in a three-legged race. But here’s the kicker: BlackRock, the financial behemoth, launched a Bitcoin ETF last year, and it’s already outperformed their Gold ETF. Yes, you read that right. Demand for Bitcoin is growing faster than a line for free tea and biscuits.
The next step? 2025 could be the year that Bitcoin changes the gold market, finally proving to the world that digital trumps physical. And, of course, we need a campaign to match this monumental goal.
Introducing #PicFlipTillGoldFlip
Now, let’s talk about campaigns. After the roaring success of laser eyes, the Bitcoin community needed something new, bold, and devilishly simple. My first idea was #GoldGrillTill1Mill, where Photoshop users add gold teeth to their profile pictures. But then I remembered two things: 1) Not everyone has Picasso’s graphic design skills, and 2) Some of us still have nightmares about Kanye’s teeth.
Then it hit me—KISS: Keep It Simple, stupid. And so, the #PicFlipTillGoldFlip the campaign was born. The idea is delightfully simple: flip your profile picture upside down. That’s all. No lasers, no gold teeth, no expensive software. Just flip your photo over and voilà , you’re part of the movement.
#Bitcoin reached $100K, but the journey isn’t over.
From laser eyes to upside down photos, it’s time to turn the financial world on its head—literally.

This represents Bitcoin’s current position below the gold market cap. The picture is upside-down because Bitcoin hasn’t overtaken gold—yet. But if it does, we’ll turn those images to the right faster than you can say “value store.”
Will You Join the Movement?
Social media campaigns like this aren’t just for laughs (but, let’s face it, laughs are a bonus). They build community, spread awareness, and remind everyone that the power of Bitcoin is, in fact, out of this world.
A laser eye campaign has taken Bitcoiners from $50K to $100K in just three years. The question now is: how long will it take to flip the gold? One year? Two? A decade? No matter how long it takes, the momentum is with us. Bitcoin is no longer a scrappy digital underdog, it is ready to take the crown from the king of the shiny rocks.
So, dear reader, are you going to flip your picture with Bitcoin? You will participate #PicFlipTillGoldFlip and join us on this exciting journey to $1 million? Or do you have an even better campaign idea? If so, speak up! The Bitcoin community is always on the lookout for the lesser evil.
Until then, I’ll see you looking down. Hello!
