Four live parlays await potential payouts based on the CFP tournament

College Football Playoff opportunities rightfully focus on quarterfinal matchups that occur on New Year’s Day and New Year’s Day.

But for future championship bettors — and, for that matter, future championship parlay bettors — the interest is more in who holds the trophy on Jan. 20 in Atlanta.

Social betting crowds are all about betting less to win more. That’s the case with a few live parlays that just need a little extra luck to hit the big bucks in the College Football Playoff.

Arguably the best of the bunch: A $5 ticket that could be worth nearly $100,000.

Bullish on the Bulldogs

At DraftKings Sportsbook, two customers with valuable parlay tickets ended up with a CFP winner. Arguably, the most interesting bet is the $5 nine-leg with great skill.

Only one leg left: Georgia to win the national title.

If the Bulldogs get there, the bet’s five bucks swell to $94,234. That translates to an insanely large odds of +1884680, or in short form, about 18847/1.

Eight other legs:

• UConn is the Big East basketball regular season champion
• Purdue men’s basketball Big Ten regular season champion
• Eastern Conference to win the NHL’s Stanley Cup (Florida won)
• Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl champion
• Jannik Sinner will win the US Open men’s tennis title
• Los Angeles Dodgers World Series champion
• Boston Celtics NBA Finals champion
• Manchester City FA Cup Champion

With eight teams remaining in the CFP, DraftKings has Georgia as the fourth +500 pick (tied with Penn State) to win the National Championship.

Georgia meets Notre Dame on Wednesday night in the Sugar Bowl. If the Bulldogs — 1-point favorites — advance to that quarterfinal, Boise State or Penn State await in the semifinals.

Multiple Payments Possible

Speaking of Penn State, DraftKings also picked up $35 for the five legs that the Nittany Lions CFP tournament needs to complete. The odds are 464273 (about 4643/1), for a profit of about $162,495.55.

The first four legs are in:

• UConn men’s basketball to make the Final Four
• Dodgers to win the world series
• Scottie Scheffler to win the Masters
• The Boston Celtics will win the Eastern Conference

At the time of the betting, Penn State was the team’s longest shot, at +2500 to win the title. Now, DraftKings has Penn State at +500, among the remaining eight teams.

As noted above, the Nittany Lions meet Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl on Tuesday night. Penn State is a 12-point favorite and, with a win, will face either Georgia or Notre Dame in the semis.

At FanDuel Sportsbook, a $6 six-leg parlay has a potential profit of around $37,000. All that’s left is the Oregon tournament.

First five legs:

• UConn Men’s basketball national title
• South Carolina women’s basketball national title
• Scheffler wins the Masters
• The Celtics won the NBA Finals
• The Dodgers win the World Series

FanDuel now has Oregon as the +480 third choice to win the national title. And the Ducks have a scary New Year’s Day quarterfinal game against Ohio State.

Oregon is a 2.5-point underdog in the Rose Bowl. If the Ducks win to keep that parlay bet alive, they will face either Texas or Arizona State in the CFP semifinals.

A million dollars

Finally, there’s this sweet $500 five-legged draw at DraftKings. But there are still two legs left to win more than a million dollars:

• The Celtics will win the NBA Finals
• The Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup
• Dodgers to win the World Series
• Texas to win the College Football Playoff
• Detroit Lions to win the Super Bowl

Add it all up, and you have the long odds of +214833, or in short, 2148/1. If the Longhorns and Lions survive, bettors will receive a whopping $1.074 million.

DraftKings currently has Texas as a +320 favorite to win the national title. In the quarterfinals, the Longhorns are 12.5-point Peach Bowl favorites vs. Arizona State.

If Texas advances, Ohio State or Oregon will await in the semifinals.
