Five were arrested with 7.6 kg of ganja in separate cases


Musheerabad Revenue Department officials arrested two people who were transporting ganja from a bar, Domalguda, on Wednesday. More than six kilograms of illegal goods were taken from them.

Guddu Kumar and Chetukumar Yadav, both from Jharkhand, were arrested. The accused came to Hyderabad in search of work and were working as auto drivers.

They found contraband in Odisha. A case has been booked and investigation is on to trace the dealer.

The trio was caught with 1.6 kg of ganja

Meanwhile, three people involved in the illegal sale of ganja and bicycles have been arrested by the Nalgonda police. A total of 1.6 kg of ganja worth R35,000 and a motorcycle were taken from them.

Lingagalla Poorna Chandu, Kanukuntla Jagadish, both 19 years old, and Harijan Mahesh, 20, were arrested by the police on Miryalaguda road in Nalgonda town when they came to sell the goods.

Investigations revealed that the two bought two kilograms of ganja in Hyderabad’s Balanagar and went to Nalgonda in a stolen car on the night of January 16. Both were immediately arrested and taken into custody.

Nalgonda Superintendent of Police Sharat Chandra Pawar warned of legal action against not only suppliers, but also buyers of ganja. The official urged citizens to report cases by calling the following number: 100 or 8712670141, ensure that the informants’ information will be kept confidential.
