Eric Trump, Vice President of the Trump Organization and son of the President-elect of the United States Donald Trump, recently shared his opinion on Bitcoin during an exclusive interview with Frank Corva, Business-to-Business Correspondent of Bitcoin Magazine, at Bitcoin MENA . 2024 Conference. Trump highlighted Bitcoin’s transformative potential, comparing it to real estate, the cornerstone of his family business, while stressing its unique advantages as a hedge for traditional investors.

From Real Estate to Bitcoin
As a self-described “brick and mortar guy,” Trump described his family’s deep connection to real estate. “I’ve spent my whole life walking construction sites,” he said, explaining the tangible nature of real estate and its potential. However, he recognized the limitations of material goods, such as their illiquidity and inability to adapt to changing world markets.
“If I have a hotel, I can spend five years building it, and if I want to sell that hotel, it would take me two years to sell it,” Trump said. He acknowledged the many benefits of real estate, including income and tax benefits, but pointed out its biggest challenge: “Real estate is illegal.”
This is where Trump sees Bitcoin as a revolutionary alternative. “What better hedge for real estate than a liquid asset?” he asked.
Bitcoin as a Tangible and Accessible Asset
Trump elaborated on the portability of Bitcoin compared to real estate. “I can’t take Trump Tower on 57th and 5th to London, Singapore, or the UAE if those markets improve. But Bitcoin is physical—it’s digital,” he said.
He also praised Bitcoin for eliminating intermediaries and reducing costs. “There are no brokers, no banks, no lawyers, no title companies, no middlemen,” he said. Unlike real estate, Bitcoin has no risk of physical damage from fire, flood, or natural disasters.
Democratizing Investment Opportunities
Beyond its technical benefits, Trump highlighted Bitcoin’s role in democratizing access to wealth-building opportunities. While real estate investing often requires capital and expertise, Bitcoin provides an entry point for those who may not have the necessary resources.
“Building or buying a house is out of reach for 99% of people,” Trump said. “They can’t go out and build a 70- or 80-story building on Fifth Avenue in New York. The cost of entry is very high.” Bitcoin, however, offers an asset that is not only accessible but has historically yielded higher returns than most real estate investments.
Trump emphasized that Bitcoin has the potential to empower people in developing countries. “Bitcoin gives people who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to invest, succeed, maybe get lucky and change their lives,” he said.
Eric Trump’s vision of Bitcoin as a hedge for real estate investors complements the ongoing discussion about how Bitcoin can reshape the home ownership landscape, especially for younger generations priced out of traditional housing markets. In a previous Bitcoin Magazine article, I explored how Bitcoin serves as the ultimate savings tool, providing a tangible way to realize the dream of home ownership in an environment where housing prices feel increasingly out of reach. Can one Bitcoin buy a house in the near future? As i Bitcoin Magazine Pro tweet suggests, the answer may surprise us, as Bitcoin continues to transform both personal finance and global markets.

“Make No Mistake: The Future”
As a proponent of long-term investment strategies, Trump confidently stated that he believes in the future of Bitcoin. “Make no mistake: the future,” he said. “People who accept it early will succeed. Those who don’t want to, like I said, are left behind.”
Trump’s understanding coincides with growing recognition of Bitcoin’s potential as a hedge against conventional assets, offering investors liquidity, accessibility, and global flexibility. For real estate investors and others, Bitcoin may represent not just a hedge, but the foundation of the future financial situation.
This interview underscores the growing interest in Bitcoin among influential figures, highlighting its evolution from a speculative asset to an integral part of modern investment portfolios.
