Milma’s Ernakulam Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (ERCMPU) will give its members 10% of its share price as profit, it was decided at the union’s board meeting called to distribute the profit for 2023-24.
ERCMPU chairman MT Jayan said that cooperative societies in the four districts of Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kottayam, and Idukki will thus get a total of Rs 1.48 crore out of a net profit of Rs 8 crore during the said financial year. “The allocations will reach cooperatives and milk credits from October 1 to 10,” he said.
Apart from the cost of procurement and expansion activities, the union has collected a net profit of ₹8-crore through schemes like labor charge on labor profit, farmer welfare schemes, and financial grants for union members, he added.
