“America needs a large number of long-range drones (air, surface water and submarine) and hypersonic missiles. Anything man-made will die very quickly in a drone war,” Musk said Thursday in a post on X.

“The design of the F-35 was broken at the level of requirements, because it needed to be many things to many people. This made it an expensive and complex jack of all trades, a master of none. Success was not in the set of possible outcomes. And manned fighter jets have not worked in years of drones anyway will kill the pilots.
In another post last month, he exclaimed, “Some of the US weapons programs are good, albeit very expensive, but please, in the name of all that is holy, let’s stop the worst military spending in history that is the F-35 program. !”
