The MEA statement comes after Lebanon on Friday condemned an Israeli attack that reportedly injured UN troops in the southern part of the country.

India on Friday expressed concern over the deterioration of the security situation in southern Lebanon following reports that United Nations soldiers were injured in an Israeli strike.

New Delhi urged that the inviolability of UN structures must be respected by all.

“We are concerned about the unstable security situation around the Blue Line. We continue to closely monitor the situation. The inviolability of UN structures must be respected by all, and appropriate measures taken to ensure the safety of UN peacekeepers and the sanctity of their mandate,” said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in an official statement.
