Hundreds of flights and many trains were delayed across North India as fog blanketed many states, including Delhi, reducing visibility amid the ongoing cold wave in the region.
The blinding fog disrupted traffic and two people died in an accident on the highway in Haryana’s Hisar.
Flight operations were temporarily suspended and some were diverted to Delhi airport as visibility of the runway on Saturday morning was zero. More than 520 flights were delayed, and about 60 were canceled due to the prevailing conditions.
