A bakery owner in Delhi has reportedly committed suicide amid an ongoing dispute with his wife. Puneet Khurana was found hanging in his house in Model Town area of ​​Kalyan Vihar. His family said Puneet Khurana “was upset about his wife.” The couple got married in 2016 and owns For God’s Cake bakery and another restaurant called Woodbox Cafe which closed down some time ago.

Police said his wife was the last person Puneet Khurana spoke to and the conversation was about the bakery business. His family also said that the wife recorded the speech and sent it to her relatives.

The police took Puneet Khurana’s phone. Reports say that in the audio of the last conversation between the couple, they can be heard arguing about their bakery.

“You call me at 3 in the morning, you don’t sleep? He has disrespected me and my family,” Puneet Khurana’s wife told India Today on the phone to which he replied, “All these things are meaningless now… Tell me what you want now.”

The sister of the deceased said according to the news agency ANI, “Manika Pahwa, her sister and parents tortured her mentally and tortured her. There is a video recording of around 59 minutes, in which Puneet spoke about the details of the abuse he faced. The woman has even hacked Puneet’s social media account..”

The case comes weeks after Bengaluru-based expert Atul Subhash committed suicide earlier last month. The software engineer left behind a 24-page suicide note in which he accused his wife and relatives of abuse. Atul Subhash was found hanging from his flat in Bengaluru with a placard reading “Justice Wanted”.
