Deadpool Director Tim Miller Reveals How Much Money He Didn’t Pay

Miller, 60, who made his directorial debut with the 2016 superhero film, revealed his surprise salary during an interview with Collider published on Tuesday, December 24.

“You may not know, but it’s not really profitable to be a first-time director in Hollywood, and I’ll tell you straight,” said the filmmaker. “I got $225,000 for directing Deadpool. I know it sounds like a lot of money, but two years of work, that’s not a ton of money.”

“No part of me thought that Deadpool finally it became clear that this would be a success,” said Reynolds, 48 The New York Times in July. “I even gave up getting paid to make a film just to get it back on the screen.
