“I shot the worst love scenes of my career,” said the actor, 56, while promoting his new film, Queer. “They are there to see.”
Craig has been hot and heavy with several leading ladies during his long acting career – including his real-life wife, Rachel Weisz54. The couple met while filming the 2011 movie The Dream Housebut it seemed like she got past all the awkward moments on set to love IRL.
Craig also acted out sex on camera Sienna Millerin 2004 Layer Cakeplus Bond girls Eva Green, Halle Berry, Monica Bellucci again Lea Seydoux.
In QueerHowever, Craig’s on-screen lover is another man, played Drew Starkey. The film, based on the novel by William S. Burroughsis said to be up for an Oscar nomination next year, and Craig plays American hero and military veteran William Lee, who fights for the younger man, discharged soldier and drug addict Eugene Allerton (Starkey).
This time, Craig is proud of his sex scenes, because he thinks they are more authentic than some of his previous roles. “Sex is fun and dirty and complicated, and I hope we were able to capture that on screen, because that’s what happens in the bedroom,” he says. “We went because of that kind of vulnerability. . . and keeping it as real as possible.”
It feels like it’s paid off, by the Artistic Director of the Venice Film Festival Alberto Barbera he explained Queer as did Craig’s “lifetime”.
He has since downed his last Martini as James Bond in 2021 There is no Time to Die (his sixth turn as an international secret agent, making him the longest-serving Bond to date), Craig has taken on many varied and interesting projects, including his stunning performance as detective Benoit Blanc Knives came out series.
He says: “I don’t have a game plan. “You have to go where your heart goes and let that lead. I’m very lucky to be in a position where I don’t have to work as much as I used to, but when I do work, I want it to be like this. I want it to be the best thing I can do.”
Leaving Bond behind has also allowed the actor to experiment with his own personal style, with him rocking a more experimental look in recent years, most recently showing off his new floppy hair on the red carpet in Venice.
