The Stars have scheduled practice in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday. The practice will serve as a prelude to their season opener against the Predators, scheduled for the following day. The team began their trip to Nashville on Tuesday.
DeBoer’s Restoration and Small Problems
DeBoer revealed that he experienced minor complications while recovering from the procedure he performed two days ago. This operation happened a few days after the start of the training camp. It marked the first time in his coaching career, spanning 17 years as an NHL head coach and three with Dallas, that DeBoer missed any part of camp.
Dallas Stars projections for the 2024-25 season
“I feel better,” he admitted. “The recovery took longer than I originally expected.” In another important update, the Stars welcomed back leading scorer Jason Robertson, who underwent surgery on July 30 to remove a tumor from his foot. Robertson has been back on the ice since the start of camp, initially practicing on his own before returning to the team last week.
Robertson’s Stellar Track Record
Robertson, a 25-year-old forward, has proven his mettle over the past two seasons, playing in every game and helping the team reach the Western Conference finals twice. Last season, he collected 80 points, including 29 goals and a team-high 51 assists.
DeBoer’s reunion with the Dallas Stars
DeBoer rejoined his team on Monday, leading a video session. He expressed his desire to get back on the ice. During his recovery, DeBoer maintained open communication with his coaching staff and followed the Stars’ exhibition games on the team’s new VICTORY+ streaming service. “With a seasoned coach like me and our outstanding staff, the transition was really smooth,” he said.
