We did it, 100k Bitcoin is here. I’m sure most of you are very happy with your net worth right now, and all of you in that situation have had to use a great deal of self-control to hang on to your coins to get by. in that position from the beginning.
You are all here because you got lucky in the beginning, you found Bitcoin at the right time, you had someone you trust to introduce you to, the right confluence of events came together at the right time for you to take it seriously. It’s not that you stay, why you hold everything. That requires your own effort and choice. But the reason you ended up here in the first place is luck.
I think it’s important to remember that. It’s a combination of luck and your effort that got you this far, not just you and your wits or the metal. A combination of both.
This is essentially the point of no return, and a major change in what will happen going forward. The problems will be difficult, they will not end because we are very rich now. With more money comes more difficulties, more challenges that we will have to face. And more money will bring in more people, all of whom will have to be convinced that these problems exist. We believe that the solutions to them are things that we should take action on.
Fix the Money, Fix the World. That saying has a grain of truth in it, but the truth is that the currency has not been fixed. The cap is not the only problem with money. There is the potential for your wealth to be seized, monitored, and controlled. Those problems are not fixed because Bitcoin exists with its limited supply.
To fix those problems, Bitcoin actually has to scale. We need the network to be accessible to enough people that it prevents the coins from accumulating for a few big custodians who are less caught by the law. Otherwise, your money will be withheld. It will be able to be monitored. None of those problems will be fixed.
So don’t let this local factor of value distract you from that. Check your ego, and keep a realistic perspective. Things are not fixed just because of the number on the screen, not even closing. Much needs to be done before these basic financial problems become a thing of the past.
