Congressman by birth: Former Haryana Chief Minister Ajay Singh Yadav just two days out of the party

Former Haryana Chief Minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav has done a U-turn, saying he is “Congress by birth” and will remain so “till his last breath.” His comments came two days after he quit the Congress party.

In a series of posts on X, the 65-year-old leader said that he has dedicated 38 years to the Congress and has done his best for the party. He also revealed that his family has maintained “a relationship of more than 70 years” with the Nehru-Gandhi family.

“I worked with my late leader Rajiv Gandhi ji and Sonia Gandhi and I cannot forget their love for me. I am a congressman by birth and I will remain a congressman till my last breath,” said Yadav.

He expressed disappointment that his contributions to the department of Other Backward Classes were not recognized by the big law, and his harsh words led him to take the first decision to resign.

“I am saddened that my hard work that I have done for the OBC Department was not appreciated and harsh words made me take this drastic step but with a calm mind I decided to strengthen the congress party especially my mentor and leader. Sonia Gandhi,” he said in another post.

The former minister resigned from the party on Thursday, due to poor treatment following Sonia Gandhi’s departure as party president.

Recently, Yadav suggested that the party should look into the reasons for its failure in the elections in southern Haryana, especially in Gurugram, Rewari, Mahendragarh and Faridabad, where it managed to win only one seat compared to ten secured by the BJP.
