CPI District Secretary K. Ramakrishna emphasized the need for unity among the Communist parties to protect the Constitution amid growing threats to the country’s democratic Constitution drafted by Dr. BR Ambedkar.
Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, he said the Communist Party played a major role in the country’s freedom struggle. The CPI and the Andhra Mahasabha are involved in the Telangana armed struggle. He recalled that the CPI’s land dispute led to 10,000 hectares of land being given to the poor. He emphasized that because of the communist movements, governments all over the country started world reforms.
The CPI leader criticized the BJP for not participating in the freedom struggle, saying that the party does not respect Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, BR Ambedkar or the Constitution of India.
Mr. Ramakrishna released an audio CD produced by the Andhra Pradesh Praja Natya Mandali. Lyricists Chaitanya Prasad, senior journalists Nalli Dharma Rao, Yadla Krishna Kishore, Babji, and Devarkonda Srinivas contributed to the songs, while film director and singer Vande Mataram Srinivas, Praja Natya Mandali State President P. Chandranayak, General Secretary Chinnam Penchalayya, and Treasurer R. .Photoyya voiced their voices.
CPI executive member Akkineni Vanaja, CPI District Senior Members Jangala Ajay Kumar, AITUC District General Secretary Ravulapalli Ravindra Nath, CPI Vijayawada City Secretary G. Koteswar Rao, AISF District President Janson Babu, and other leaders of Praja Natya Mandali participated in the event.
