Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni

“My favorite Law and Order: Special Victims Unit when was the incident between me and Mariska Hargitay Lou Diamond Phillips he had a gun to my head, Stabler told Benson to shoot,” Meloni, 63, said in a recent news release. The actress was expecting her first child, son August, while filming Meloni: season 7, episode 19, “Fault.” She is also the mother of children Amaya and Andrew, whom she had in 2011 with her partner Law & Order: SVU actor Peter Hermann.
Meloni also shares this one thing that he shares with his SVU the character, Elliot Stabler, has a “complicated relationship with God.”

1. I sold my first car, a Jeep Renegade, to pay my way to New York to start my life as an actor. Ten years ago, I bought another Jeep with that car in mind. It takes me back 20 years.
2. The most important moment in my life was when I did 12 Monkeys and met Terry Gilliamwho was my hero in his movie Braziland, apparently, in his own Monty Python days. I almost cried while talking to him, letting him know that it makes sense Brazil it happened to me.
3. When I was growing up, my favorite thing was to play soccer with the neighborhood kids. Also, I loved riding my bike. I loved the feeling of freedom it gave me.
4. My favorite movie I saw last year was The Maestro. I thought everything about it – the writing, the directing, the acting – was brilliant, and I know it Bradley [Cooper]and I was amazed and inspired by what he did.
5. One quality I share with Elliot Stabler is a complicated relationship with God.
6. I love books, whether fiction or non-fiction, because I learn a lot about human behavior and species: who we are, what we are and how we work. Three that I read recently Herzog with Saul Bellow, Rabbit, Run with John Updike again Sapiens with Yuval Noah Harari.
7. I looked up Robert De Niro, Marlon Brando, Daniel Day-Lewis again Christian Slater when I was young. I respect the way each of these actors immerse themselves in their characters. It’s a wonderful thing.
8. My favorite item in my closet is this silly sweater that my daughter, Sophia, bought me. I once told her how I wanted a tattoo of this crazy actor making a crazy face, but her mother wouldn’t let me, saying “You don’t want that on your body.” But you know, I did it! I felt like a crazy lunatic was talking to me. One day, my daughter went into a thrift store, found this crazy sweater and bought it for me.

11. When I was 18, I started working as a director of surgery in a hospital. I saw my first autopsy from start to finish, and I had seen the boy alive the day before, enjoying his tapioca pudding. The next morning, they told me to take him out of the fridge.
12. If I were not an actor, I would like to be a sculptor. I just started recording. It’s a different source of creativity, a new creative angle that I haven’t seen before. It’s very exciting. I was committed to recording. I went to art school, got my hands dirty. I slept with clay under my nails and dreamed of marbles.
13. The proudest moment in my career was when I started making a living as an actor and was able to finish my side hustle, bartending.
14. I’ve worked everywhere, from rowdy honky-tonks to Studio 54 on its last legs.
15. My favorite place to go on vacation is the Caribbean and my little lake getaway.

Maybe I’m a company man, but the show I just binge-watched Murder: New Yorkdocumentary series [executive produced by Dick Wolf] about the north and south murder gangs in Manhattan. I thought it was great – how dedicated the detectives are to their work and to their pursuit of justice for the victims and their families. It made me proud of what I do, and I try to express their strengths through my character.
17. My favorite home cooked food is rare meat [with] caramelized onions, mushrooms and a nice Caesar salad. Some asparagus too.
18. I would like to visit places of the world that I have never seen before, such as South America, Greece and the Nordic countries.
19. After a busy day, I like to unwind by going out to eat. I am lucky to be alive [near] 20 great restaurants within a five block radius of Manhattan.
20. The app I use the most is Venmo, unfortunately.
21. Bicycle is my favorite mode of transportation.
22. My workouts include a little cardio, a lot of movement work and strength training. I like to do my own thing because I am very in tune with what my body needs.

24. I am passionate about the Global Lyme Alliance. As a GLA ambassador, I led a group of Lyme disease advocates on a trip to Capitol Hill to advocate for increased funding for Lyme disease treatment and diagnosis. Lyme disease has brought a depth of pain and turmoil into my family’s life that I never dreamed of, but that pain requires from all of us an equal response: you face what you have to face, and you fight through it all. you have. I want everyone to know how insidious Lyme disease is and how little is known about it.
25. My favorite weekend activity is waterskiing, which I started 23 years ago. Sometimes my son will join me or my daughter will tag along to go wakeboarding, but not too many people slalom ski these days, so I usually go with friends.
