Background to the Appointment of an Outside Director
Through Axelspace Corporation, its consolidated subsidiary founded in 2008, the company has been expanding its space business using small satellites. We have successfully designed, built, and operated a total of 10 satellites, including WNISAT-1, the world’s first Arctic sea ice observation satellite, and RAPIS-1, the first satellite launched by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) into space . business for both development and operation. “AxelGlobe” is the first commercial Earth observation observatory in Japan, and has been providing satellite image data to hundreds of client companies and affiliates in nearly 30 countries around the world.

In 2022, we announced the “AxelLiner” business, which evolved from its first dedicated satellite business. AxelLiner offers a one-stop solution for small satellites, covering everything from initial feasibility studies to design, manufacturing, launch, and on-orbit operations. In July of this year, we started a new service called “AxelLiner Laboratory (AL Lab),” which focuses on the obit visualization of space objects.
With the appointment of these two new external directors, we intend to continue to strengthen our management team and accelerate the growth of both AxelGlobe and AxelLiner businesses, bringing space applications using small satellites to the wider community.
