Canon’s new live streaming program does not support Canon cameras

Canon has “,” a new live streaming app for iOS that supports up to three camera views that you can switch between with just a few taps. The app currently only works with Apple devices, and strangely does not support Canon cameras.

Live Switcher Mobile can allow users to specify how many seconds a view stays on a camera before automatically switching to another. The app also supports on-screen captions, and real-time comments. However, this last feature only works if you’re streaming on YouTube and Twitch, like notes, the app can also stream to other RTMP-supported platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram and LinkedIn, among others.

Although Live Switcher Mobile is free, the premium version only supports resolutions up to 720p. There will also be ads and watermarks on the screen. It costs $18 monthly and enables photo overlay and picture-in-picture zoom and motion functions. Of course, it will stream in high resolution up to 1080p and remove ads and watermarks.

Live Switcher Mobile, compared to free apps like OBS Studio and Streamlabs, has fewer functions, which means that Canon has a lot of work to do to make the paid program usable. Fortunately, Canon camera support is coming soon.
