Bomb threat at Agra airport, ‘nothing suspicious found’

The Agra airport received an email bomb threat on Monday (December 9, 2024), prompting a search of security facilities but “nothing suspicious was found”, police said.

“An email received by the CISF (which provides airport security) at the Agra airport at 11:56 am on Monday said that a bomb had been planted in a bathroom on the airport premises. A bomb disposal team has been dispatched to the airport premises,” said the Assistant Commissioner of Police ( Lohamandi) Mayank Tiwari The PTI.

Later, Agra Airport Director Yogendra Singh Tomar said, “After nearly two hours of intensive search in the airport premises, nothing suspicious was found.” On December 3, an email threatening to blow up the Taj Mahal was received by Uttar Pradesh Tourism, Agra.

Agra police conducted an investigation but nothing suspicious was found, said ACP (Taj Suraksha) Syed Areeb Ahmad.
