A Bluey movie is on the way, and everyone’s favorite Australian canines are heading to the big screen for the first time. It was announced on Tuesday, Ludo Studio will produce BlueyThe first episode of the film in association with BBC Studios.
‘Bluey’ special episode ‘The Sign’ has viewers in tears

Few details have been released about what Mom, Dad, Bingo, and Bluey will talk about in the film. However, we know that Bluey The film will feature the voices of series regulars Melanie Zanetti (Chilli Heeler aka Mum) and David McCormack (Bandit Heeler aka Dad), and will feature music by series composer Joff Bush.
I Bluey The film will also be written and directed by series creator Joe Brumm, with series director Richard Jeffery co-directing.
“I really enjoyed working in the long format [special episode] ‘The Sign’ is in Series 3, so going forward with a feature film feels like a natural extension of that,” Brumm said. “I’ve always thought. Bluey it deserves a theatrical film. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together.”
If BlueyThe first feature film follows the same path as “The Sign”, we can probably expect another heartfelt and emotional story about parenting as it happens in childhood.

It is interesting that i Bluey The film will be a CG animated film produced by Amber Naismith (Happy Feet, The LEGO Movie). This has already raised some questions and concerns about whether it will stick to the attractive 2D animation we all know and love from the series, or go into the 3D style that Naismith has worked with before.

I Bluey The film will hit theaters in 2027, before being released for streaming on Disney+. It will also be made available for broadcast in Australia on ABC iview and ABC Kids after its theatrical run.
BlueyCreator Joe Brumm is leaving the series

This happy announcement also comes with sad news. Brumm revealed that this film will be his last Bluey project for the foreseeable future, as it will be moving back from the show.
“I have always said that I will not continue playing if I think that I will not make the new season as good as the last,” said Brumm in an open letter. “This would be the case for me to have a fourth season, so I decided to take a break from my involvement in the TV series.”
Agreeing Bluey‘s incredible success, Brumm explained that he decided to leave because he was now struggling to “really reach back into that world of four to six years and write authentically.”
If I can’t wrap my head around doing multiple seasons myself, ‘The Sign’ will mark the end of my TV career Bluey and I wrote like that,” said Brumm.
This exit raises questions about how the series will continue. Brumm is credited as a writer on every episode Bluey so far, and he is the sole author of most of them. His departure from the series will undoubtedly have an impact on how it is produced going forward.
Still, Brumm was clear that this was not the end Blueyand the program will continue without him for now. We can only hope that the beloved series continues to maintain the high bar set by its creator.
“Bluey it has completely changed my life. It’s been so satisfying to be a part of, more than I can put into words,” Brumm wrote. “Thank you for bringing this show into your homes, everything that happened was impossible to explain.”
