A delegation of BJP leaders, including Arjun Singh, and Hindu monk Kartick Maharaj on Tuesday met Bangladeshi lawyer Rabindra Ghosh, who was defending Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, in the North 24 Parganas district. They applauded Ghosh for his efforts to stand up for the rights of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
The meeting was held at Ghosh’s son’s residence in Barrackpore, where the lawyer is staying to receive medical treatment after sustaining bone injuries.
“He is a brave man. We appreciate his efforts and everything he has done so far to fight for justice for the minority Hindus in Bangladesh despite such difficult circumstances. Rabindra Ghosh’s courage in fighting for justice for minority Hindus in Bangladesh. Despite threats to his life, he was fearless and it inspires many of us,” said Arjun Singh.
Emphasizing the importance of standing up for human rights, Kartick Maharaj said, “We pray for the release of Chinmoy Krishna Das. Supporting Das is about standing up for human rights. Also, Rabindra Ghosh’s commitment to justice shows the true spirit of humanity.”
Meanwhile, Ghosh said, “Thank you for supporting me. The situation of minorities in Bangladesh is dire, and I will continue to fight against injustice. “
“The silence of the interim administration regarding fundamentalists and violence is appalling. It is an affront to justice,” he said.
