Mari Llewellyn radiates inner light. And as I’ve gotten to know him over the past year, I’ve seen firsthand that his glow is more than skin deep—it comes from genuine kindness and heart for others. It would be easy to try to put Mari in a box (she’s pretty, blonde, and has 1.5 million followers on Instagram), but within five minutes of meeting her, you get the kind of depth that speaks to living experience. Mari has struggled and overcome challenges, and her story is proof that true, lasting change is an inside job.
When Mari and her husband Greg moved to Austin last year, they were looking for a slower pace, somewhere they’d like to start a family soon. In addition to growing their brand of successful supplements, Bloom Nutrition, Mari’s podcast The pursuit of wellnessit topped the health charts (which I listen to every week), and she and Greg both made the Forbes 30 under 30 list. But beyond her accomplishments, Mari embodies strong, feminine strength—she’s a girl who calls herself a “horse,” bakes sourdough, collects eggs from her backyard chickens, and openly shares her dreams of motherhood.
ICYMI, Mari is the cover girl for the latest issue of Camille styles EDIT. In our interview, Mari shares the story and struggles that inspired her to create the inspiring and fulfilling life she lives. Be sure to read our column on page 30 for more inspiration in tackling your 2025 goals. Since Mari has one of the most dialed-in daily schedules of anyone I know, I invited her to join our Wake Up Call series as well. Read about Mari Llewellyn’s morning routine, and how she does it all each day.
Tell us about your career and starting a business. How was life as an entrepreneur?
As a student, I never expected to become an entrepreneur. I have always loved writing, art and language. At university I studied design and marketing, and I wasn’t really the best student. Little did I know, my fitness journey would change everything about my life. I learned how to keep my promises and prove myself. My passion for health and food itself turned into a business. I started posting workouts, recipes, and venting about the ups and downs of my journey. I wanted to share my knowledge with others, and my social network grew quickly. I cultivated a community of women who could relate to me, and I wanted products to help them on their journey. With the help of my (very) entrepreneur husband, I soon had a Shopify website selling PDF exercise guides. This escalated into selling physical products like resistance bands, and we started taking sample supplements for what would become Bloom Nutrition.
Life as an entrepreneur is exciting, stressful, beautiful and lonely all at the same time. It taught me a lot about relationships, leadership, resilience, determination, and failure. It’s not about how fast you win but how many times you can get knocked down and get back up. Bloom is truly the culmination of years of hard work, sweat and tears. I’m proud of how far we’ve come, but know that we have a lot more ahead of us.
What have you learned the most in the past year?
My biggest learning over the past year has been about establishing my values. For many years, all my energy went into our business. This was necessary at first, but now we are in a place where I can live without work. I have developed hobbies, such as horseback riding, and have a very active social life. There are things that bring me joy and allow me to show up at work as the best version of myself.
In a few words, how would you describe your personal style?
I feel like I have many sides to my style. If I had to label it, I would say I’m simple, casual, playful with a pony girl twist. I love Kendall Jenner’s style.
