Photographs of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu shall not be released by any government department or agency without obtaining the permission of the Director of Information and Public Relations, the order said.
The ban includes photographs of the CM taken during departmental meetings, official engagements, or public functions.
In a letter written to the Secretaries and heads of departments, the DIPR said that it has noticed that the CM’s photos are being released without obtaining permission from the media.
“In some cases, these images show inappropriate gestures and may damage the public image of the Chief Minister.
“This illegal distribution of pictures can have far-reaching consequences, which may affect the image and perception of the CM and the Government,” the letter said.
