Arizona’s Kari Lake Already Claims Election Fraud

This year, Lake also pushed conspiracy theories about mail-in ballots and early voting, calling for one day of in-person voting. His support for early and mail-in voting before the election echoed that of former president Donald Trump, who also realized that without early and mail-in voting he had no chance of winning.

Lake may have changed his mind about the validity of postal voting, but he remains convinced that the election will be rigged. The only solution? “We’re going to make it really big to record,” Lake told his fans.

Throughout his campaign for the Senate, Lake has repeatedly refused to answer a simple question: Would he accept the results of the election?

Polls suggest Lake could face another loss, and based on his words throughout the campaign, it’s unlikely that Lake, who won’t concede a loss in 2022, is willing to concede.

In the end, Lake took his challenge to court, and lost again. Undeterred, Lake continued to cozy up to Trump and MAGA, and was even considered a potential vice presidential candidate.

Now, Lake said it would be foolish to commit to accepting the election results without knowing what those results are.

Many of his supporters who spoke to WIRED Monday night agreed with Lake, convinced that there was fraud in the election.

“I don’t think we should accept anything until we know that the election is a fair election. We know the last one was stolen and the 2020 one was robbed,” Sandy, a Lake fan from Prescott Valley, told WIRED.

But there are also fans who urged their man to do the right thing and accept defeat.

“There is nothing we can do, we have to accept the results,” said Rick Starmer, from Chino Valley in Yavapai County.
