Hathaway revealed on Friday that she is officially on board to reprise her role as Mia Thermopolis in Princess Diaries 3.
“Miracles do happen ✨👑 Return to Genovia with @adeleblim @disney @somewherepictures,” the actress wrote on Instagram. “The legend continues ❤️🔥.”
Hathaway also shared a video with Mia saying, “Shut up!” in the middle The Princess Diaries followed by Andrews saying the iconic line in between The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. The camera then pans to Hathaway holding up three fingers, confirming a third movie. “Shut up!” he shouted.

“As a diehard fan of the original Princess DiariesI am very happy to be a part of bringing back the third iteration of this franchise that I love,” said Lim in a statement. “We look forward to celebrating its leading employers of female power, excitement and mentorship with audiences around the world.”
The studio plans to start filming in 2025, with the star Anne Hathaway expected to return. Hathaway, who played Mia Thermopolis in the first two films, has not yet signed the deal, according to The Hollywood Reporter. (Hours later, Hathaway confirmed her participation.)
Debra Martin Chase is reportedly producing the third film, while Lim is co-producing Naya Cucukov you will be one of the main producers. Melissa Stack signed on as the second executive producer, in Deadline.
