AMA pays tribute to former Suzuki Motor chairman Osamu | Ahmedabad news


The Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) on Monday held a special meeting in honor of the former chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Osamu Suzuki, who said He passed away on December 25 last year.

The current director of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, Kinji Saito, delivered the keynote speech at the event as he was joined by the Japanese Ambassador, Gujarat Mukesh Patel; Professor, Department of Business Administration, University of Saurashtra, Hitesh Shukla; and AMA President, Savan Godiawala, among others.

The AMA release said, “Kinji Saito enlightened us with Osamu Suzuki’s global vision based on the Spirit of True Entrepreneurship…He focused on the flexibility of the mind, thinking of ways to resist differently than ordinary people, and realizing the solution with few resources.”

Quoting Godiawala, its release said, “Osamu Suzuki was a legend in the global automotive industry. He loved India and Gujarat and his partnership with Maruti revolutionized the Indian automobile market and contributed to employment, the Indian economy and sustainable development.”

The release quoted the Governor of Shizuoka Prefectural, Yasutomo Suzuki, as saying, “He (Osamu Suzuki) was a man of incredible vision. On December 24, 2024, Shizuoka Prefecture signed a friendship agreement with Gujarat, one of the Indian regions where Suzuki Motor operates. And it was the next day, December 25, that Osamu Suzuki died, as if he had seen the signing of the agreement. To ensure that his wishes will be respected, we at Shizuoka Prefecture are committed to strengthening relations with the state of Gujarat and other stakeholders in India, thereby helping to promote friendship and friendship between Japan and India…”
