Ahead of the upcoming Deepavali festival, personnel of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) of the Perambalur police conducted anti-vandalism checks at various locations in Perambalur town as a precautionary measure for any suspected explosive devices on Saturday.
Two teams of BDDS are inspecting places where the public has gathered in large numbers and important places in Perambalur city.
Checks were made on the orders of Perambalur Superintendent of Police Adarsh ​​​​Pachera at the old bus stop, at the four road area, at the Perambalur Court and District Collectorate.
A dog trained to sniff out explosives has been deployed, said a press release. Anti-vandalism checks will continue at different places in Perambalur district in view of the festival at market places, bus stops, and important installations.
