Seema Sajdeh, who was once married to actor Sohail Khan, opened up about her divorce and how it affected her sons Nirvan and Yohan on the latest season of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. In this program, Seema revealed that her move from Bandra to Lower Parel affected her children as well they did not visit him much and preferred to stay with his father Sohail in Bandra as it feels at home. In a new interview, Seema said that children also suffer when parents separate and parents must understand that children face the consequences of decisions made by adults.
“I have two children who are 11 years apart. So there is no age to describe what they are going through, the grief they are going through and we did this to them, not us. Compared to us, they live in a world where there is a lot of information, it is full of information. Our children know themselves automatically, they are very smart, they are confident, so they are brought up in a world that did not exist when we were growing up,” he told Galatta India.
In one of the episodes, Seema’s eldest son Nirvan revealed that Yohan was looking for the word ‘divorce’ when the parents separated. since he didn’t even know what this word meant. When asked how Yohan is coping now, Seema said, “He’s doing really well. Not so and because of his age, their personalities (Nirvan and Yohan) are different. Like Nirvan, I’m his go-to person. I mean when he started having a girlfriend, he called me and said I have a girlfriend, can I bring her home to see you? I mean, that’s my Nirvan for me. You are different. And John is an introverted kid. You have to take it out on him.”
Seema and Sohail divorced in 2022 after 24 years of marriage. They lived separately for a while before they divorced. After two years of separation, Seema said she is beginning to understand what children want from their parents. “I’ve been going through a divorce for almost two years now and I see that in the end, what the children want is to see both parents together, which is very important and that both of them are happy. There is peace for the child. They no longer feel stuck like that,” he said.
Now Seema is dating Vikram Ahuja. She was engaged to Vikram in the 1990s, before breaking up with Sohail.
