After Delhi’s Rohini blast, 3 CRPF schools receive fake threat email, investigation underway

The CRPF has received a hoax threat email claiming that three of its schools in Delhi and Telangana will be targeted with improvised explosive devices, official sources said on Tuesday (October 22, 2024).

The schools – one each in Rohini and Dwarka in Delhi and one in Medchal near Hyderabad — are safe and functioning normally, sources said.

A suspicious email was received by the CRPF on Monday (October 21, 2024) night. It says improvised explosive devices may explode in three buildings at 11 am on Tuesday (October 22, 2024).

Checks were carried out to prevent vandalism and nothing suspicious was found, sources said.

Three CRPF schools are functioning normally, they said.

The threatening email comes a day after the wall of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school was blown up in the Prashant Vihar area of ​​Rohini in the National Capital.

The security and intelligence agencies are investigating the role of Khalista followers in the Sunday morning blast (October 20, 2024).

Probe agencies are also probing the origin and creator of the late night email on Monday (October 21, 2024) that mentions some political events from Tamil Nadu, sources said.

CRPF schools are run by the country’s largest army deployed in the major theaters of anti-Naxal, counterterrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and counter-insurgency in the Northeast.
