A 16-year-old student died after being struck by lightning on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Midhun, son of Madhu, of Attingal. He died on the spot.
The female student was burnt and has been admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital, Nedumangad police said.
According to information provided by local residents, a group of students were in an open area near Thiruchitrupara as part of a vacation.
