A man throws three children into the Tungabhadra in Gadag, they jump to their death

In a shocking incident, it is reported that a man who was fed up with a domestic dispute threw three children into the Tungabhadra river from a bridge in Gadag village and then plunged into the river and killed himself.

The incident took place on Tuesday night near Korlahalli in Mundargi taluk of the district. The search for these bodies did not yield results on Wednesday either.

The deceased have been identified as 41-year-old Manjunath Arakeri of Maktumpur village in Nargund taluk, his six-year-old children Dhana and four-year-old Pawan and his four-year-old nephew Vedant.

Manjunath was drunk and had daily arguments with his wife, police said.

After the incident, the police and emergency services from Mundargi and Huvina Hadagali conducted a search operation for the bodies on Tuesday and Wednesday without success.

On Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Govind Reddy and other officials visited the site and monitored the work.
