The Central Zone Task Force, along with the Keesara police, caught a burglar who was a regular burglar while he was riding in a stolen car and planning another theft. Seven cases of theft of property were found, and stolen goods including two motorcycles and burglary tools were seized. The suspects have a history of more than 40 thefts since 2007.
The arrested, identified as 39-year-old Bharath Kumar Sharma, a laborer living near Charminar, is at it again. The latest arrest resulted in seven theft charges, including five burglaries and two motorcycle thefts. “Sharma has been involved in more than 40 cases of theft of property in various police stations in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda and other districts. “The police also seized two motorcycles and burglary tools including a metal and a screwdriver,” said the police.
While in prison, he befriended other thieves and when he was released, he continued his criminal activities with their help. “He used to steal motorcycles and armed them with tools such as irons and screwdrivers. Walking through the various colonies at night, he would see locked houses, and with the help of his friends, break in by cutting the door locks and opening cabinets to steal money, gold, and silver ornaments. His accomplices will also dispose of the stolen property,” explained the police.
Due to his repeated crimes, the Charminar Police Station used the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against him in 2015 and 2016.
On January 19, a team of the Task Force Central Zone, working on credible intelligence, arrested Sharma while he was trying to steal another, using a stolen car. He has been handed over to the Keesara police for legal action.
